First Visit

What can I expect during my first visit to Dr. Romano’s office?

After being warmly greeted and welcomed, Teresa or Joann will assist you in filling out medical and dental history forms.

Then you will receive the new patient interview, during which we will get to know about your dental concerns and any specific treatment goals.

After the interview, you will be escorted to an operatory for a full series of x-rays and a complete oral examination.

The examination is in 6 parts and consists of:

1.  a soft tissue exam;

2.  hard tissue exam;

3.  dental exam;

4.  occlusal evaluation (of the chewing and biting surfaces of the teeth)

5.  periodontal evaluations; and

6.  oral cancer screening.

Based on any findings from these examinations, you and Dr. Romano will discuss your range of treatment options, taking into account all of your dental and medical history and present health condition. This unhurried and thorough approach gives the new patient ample time to understand the treatment and to read over the written recommendations before signing the treatment plan.

Once the treatment plan has been agreed upon, you can schedule further appointments as needed.
